MVS Valves PTFE Lined 90° Elbow is a precision-engineered solution for smooth directional change in highly corrosive process pipelines. Manufactured with a seamless virgin PTFE or PFA liner and housed in a robust ductile iron or carbon steel body, this elbow ensures long-lasting protection against chemical attack, permeation, and corrosion fatigue. It is available in sizes ranging from ½″ to 24″ (DN 15–600), designed to ANSI Class 150/300 or PN 10–25 pressure ratings, and operates efficiently within a broad temperature range of –40 °C to +230 °C.
Our PTFE Lined 90 Degree Elbow features raised face flanges and is fully compliant with global piping standards such as ASTM F1545, ASME B16.9, and ISO. All elbows up to 150 mm are provided as cast fittings, while larger sizes are fabricated. The lining is done using paste-extruded PTFE liners that are flared over the flange face to ensure leak-proof sealing. Additionally, FEP and PFA mouldings are standardized for cast elbows to maximize chemical resistance and durability. For sensitive applications, these elbows are also available in anti-static PTFE liners, preventing the build-up of static charges in volatile media handling.

What is a PTFE lined 90° elbow and how is it made?
A long radius 90° bend with a PTFE liner extruded to ASTM F1545-97 and flared over the flange faces at both ends. The long radius keeps the flow turning gently, which matters more in a lined line than a bare one — a tight bend concentrates erosion at the outside of the turn, and in a lined system that is exactly where the liner is thinnest.
Which body, flange and lining materials are available?
Body in stainless steel or steel fabrication, with flanges available as rotating or fixed on/off centres. Lining options PTFE, FEP, PFA, PVDF, ETFE, PP and HDPE, at a minimum 3.5 mm, 6.0 mm overall (±1.0 mm tolerance). Flange dimensions DIN PN10/16, BS 10, ASME 150/300 or mixed. Jacketed 90° elbow bends are available on request for heated or cooled service.
What sizes and test standards apply?
25 mm to 200 mm, 90° long radius as standard with other angles on request. Every elbow is spark tested at 20 KVDC after lining and hydraulically tested at 29 kg/cm². Earthing studs or lugs and vent extensions are available as extras.
What are rotating flanges and earthing lugs for?
A rotating flange turns freely on the fitting, so you can align the bolt holes with the mating flange on site instead of forcing the pipework round — invaluable on a lined system, where twisting a spool to line up holes is exactly what cracks a liner flare. Earthing studs or lugs give the steel shell a bonding point: fluoropolymer is an insulator, and flowing solvent can build a static charge, so bonding and an anti-static liner are specified where that is a hazard.
