What is a PTFE lined unequal cross?
A four-way fitting with one or two branches of reduced bore, lined throughout with moulded FEP or PFA. It lets a smaller take-off and a full-bore run share a single intersection, instead of building the same arrangement from a tee plus a reducer plus extra flange joints. Up to 150 NB it is cast; above that it is fabricated from pipe.
Which body, flange and liner materials are available?
Body in steel fabrication to ASTM A234 Gr. WPB, Ductile Iron GGG40.3 / ASTM A395 or cast steel. Flanges from IS 2062 plate, ASTM A105, CF8 (SS 304) or CF8M (SS 316). Lining in moulded FEP or PFA, with PVDF, PP and HDPE options, at a minimum 3.5 mm, 6.0 mm overall. Liner types are virgin PTFE or anti-static (static dissipating) PTFE.
What sizes and test standards apply?
25 mm to 300 mm, available with one or two reduced bore branches. Flange standard ANSI B16.5 / B16.42 with face-to-face per ANSI B16.5 Class 150, and DIN PN10/16, BS 10, ASME 150/300 or mixed dimensions; DIN 2632/2633 and BS 10 Table D, E, F drilling on request. Spark tested at 20 KVDC and hydraulically tested at 29 kg/cm² after lining.
How should I specify an unequal cross so it is made correctly?
Give the run size first, then each branch size and which side it sits on, and say whether you need one or two reduced branches. Because these are made to the drawing rather than off a standard chart, also state the flange standard and drilling for each face — a cross can legitimately have different standards on different faces, and mixed arrangements are supplied. A marked sketch removes all ambiguity.
