Manufactured using ductile iron, cast steel, or stainless steel, and available with PFA, FEP, PVDF, or PP linings, these crosses are built to handle critical process conditions without compromising structural strength. They are suitable for use in chemical plants, pharmaceutical industries, petrochemical pipelines, and acid handling systems, where precise multi-directional flow control is essential. With a standard size range of ½″ to 24″ (DN 15–600) and pressure ratings up to ANSI Class 150/300 or PN 10–25, these fittings can operate at temperatures between –40 °C and +230 °C.
Each PTFE Lined Equal Cross conforms to ASTM F1545, ASME B16.9, and ISO standards, ensuring high mechanical integrity, dimensional consistency, and global compatibility. These fittings are available with flanged end connections as per ASME B16.5 Class 150 or DIN standards, making them easy to install into new or existing lined piping systems. What is a PTFE lined equal cross and where is it used?
A four-way fitting with all branches the same nominal bore, lined throughout with moulded FEP or PFA. It is used where two lines intersect or where a header needs opposed branches from a single point — distribution manifolds, ring mains and reactor feed headers. Using one cross instead of two tees removes a spool and a flange pair from the run.
Which body, flange and lining materials are available?
Body in steel fabrication to ASTM A234 Gr. WPB, with flanges per ASTM A105 or IS 2062 plate, CF8 (SS 304) or CF8M (SS 316). Lining in moulded FEP or PFA with PVDF, PP and HDPE options, at a minimum 3.5 mm, 6.0 mm overall (±1.0 mm tolerance). Flange standard per ANSI B16.5 / B16.42, DIN PN 10 or PN 16, with face-to-face per ANSI B16.5 #150.
What sizes and test standards apply?
25 mm to 300 mm; sizes above 6″ are fabricated rather than cast. Flange dimensions DIN PN10/16, BS 10, ASME 150/300 or mixed, with rotating and fixed on/off centre options, and DIN 2632/2633 or BS 10 Table D, E, F drilling on request. Spark tested at 20 KVDC and hydraulically tested at 29 kg/cm² after lining.
Equal or unequal cross — which do I order?
Order an equal cross where all four branches carry the same bore. Where one or two branches are smaller, an unequal reducing cross is made with the reduced bores built in, saving the reducers and their flange joints. On a lined system that matters — fewer joints means fewer liner flares to be crushed during assembly.
