MVS Valves manufactures high-quality Forged Steel Ball Valves engineered for robust performance in high-pressure and high-temperature environments. Designed with a reliable three-piece construction, these valves ensure long-lasting durability and leak-tight shutoff even under the most demanding industrial conditions. Each forged steel three-piece ball valve is available in both full port and reduced port options with threaded (BSPT and NPT) and flanged end connections to suit a wide range of system requirements. The valves are built for Class 800 pressure ratings when using screwed or threaded ends, and are also offered in Class 150, Class 300, Class 600, Class 1500, and Class 2500 for flanged versions, providing high adaptability for diverse operational needs.

MVS Forged Steel Ball Valves are also available in special alloys on request, making them ideal for aggressive media and demanding process conditions. Each unit is crafted from a quality forged body that ensures strong, heavy-duty construction capable of withstanding mechanical stress and corrosive environments. These valves are equipped with features such as low operating torque, positive shutoff, and no lubrication requirement, which contribute to their smooth, long operational life and reduce maintenance efforts over time.

Whether used in critical flow lines, high-pressure steam systems, or oil and gas pipelines, MVS Forged Steel Ball Valves offer precise flow control and high operational safety. Popular configurations include forged steel three piece ball valve full port BSPT threaded Class 800, reduced port BSPT threaded Class 800, and forged steel three piece ball valve full port NPT threaded Class 800 and NPT threaded Class 800. In flanged designs, MVS provides options like forged steel reduced port three piece ball valve full port flanged end Class 150, Class 300, Class 600, Class 1500, and Class 2500, each carefully engineered to meet international standards and industrial performance expectations.

Designed for flexibility, these valves can be operated manually through lever handles or automated with pneumatic or electric actuators, depending on system integration needs. Their design and performance characteristics make them a preferred choice for refineries, petrochemical plants, steam and condensate systems, power generation units, and other fluid handling sectors that demand precision and safety.

What is a forged steel ball valve and how does it work?

It is a small-bore quarter-turn ball valve whose body is forged rather than cast. Forging aligns the grain structure and eliminates the porosity a casting can carry, so the same wall thickness holds considerably more pressure — which is why forged bodies dominate small-bore high-pressure service. A quarter turn of the lever opens or closes the bore.

Which body, ball and seat materials are available?

Body and end piece in ASTM A105 or A182 F304, F316, F11 or F22. Ball in A351 CF8/CF8M, A182 F304/F316 or CF3/CF3M. Stem in A276 SS 304, 316 or 410. Ball seat and body seal in PTFE (virgin, glass-filled or carbon-filled), PEEK, Delrin or graphite; gland packing PTFE or graphite ring; studs and nuts ASTM A193 Gr. B7 / A194 Gr. 2H or SS 304/316. F11 and F22 are the alloy steel options for elevated temperature.

What size, pressure class, end connections and standards apply?

½″ (DN 15) to 2″ (DN 50) in Class 150, 300, 600 and 800. End connections screwed to ANSI B1.20.1, socket weld to ANSI B16.11, or flanged to ASME B16.5, with face-to-face per ANSI B16.10 or custom. Designed to BS EN ISO 17292 / ASME B16.34 and inspected and tested to BS EN ISO 12266-1 (BS 6755-1). Operation is manual lever or actuator.

Forged or cast ball valve — which should I use?

Forged below 2″ wherever the class is 600 or above; a cast body of the same size would need much more metal to reach the same rating. Cast above 2″, where forging becomes uneconomic and the cast two piece or three piece designs cover ½″–12″. In practice line size and pressure class decide it for you rather than preference.

Are you a manufacturer, and what are your minimum order quantity and customization options?

MVS manufactures at its own works — since 1978, ISO 9001:2015 certified — and exports across several continents. The minimum order quantity is 20 pieces. Alloy steel bodies, PEEK seats, special end connections and actuated assemblies are built to order.
