Knife Gate Valve
MVS Stainless Steel Knife Gate Valve is available in Lugged and Flanged End Connection in size range of 50 mm to 2500 mm having pressure rating of Class 150. Knife Gate Valve Seat Options Include Metal Seat and Resilient Seat which can be offered as Unidirectional and Bidirectional. MVS Knife Gate Valve can be operated through Hand wheel (rising stem and non-rising stem), Chain wheel, Lever, Bevel Gear, Electric Actuator, Pneumatic Cylinder and Hydraulic Actuator.
MVS offers Soft and Metal Seated Stainless Steel Knife Gate Valve in Unidirectional and Bidirectional design in manual and pneumatic options. Knife Edge Gate Valves are specially designed for tough applications. Slide Gate Valves features a single piece full port cast stainless steel body fully lugged which is very robust in construction to cater to the extreme demanding applications and ensure greater flow capacity and minimal pressure drop.
Knife Gate Valves incorporate gates made of stainless steel and other superior alloys are ground with super surface finish on both sides to assure positive shutoff. The machined and highly finished gland pockets ensure a leak proof gland packing and perfect stem seal. High Performance Knife Gate Valve are available in Uni-Directional / Bi-Directional design which provide better value and performance with many standard features which others lack.
Special Alloy Knife Gate Valves : All MVS Knife Gate Valve are available in these Special Alloys like Titanium Alloy, Zirconium Alloy, Nickel Alloy, Hastelloy Alloy, Inconel Alloy, Incoloy Alloy, Monel Alloy, Aluminium Bronze and Duplex Steel.
Both metal and resilient or soft seat option are available with a shutoff capability exceeding the requirements of the standard MSS SP – 81.

DESIGN AND TESTING :
Body- MSS SP-81 requires the valve body hydrostatically pressure tested to 1.5 times the rated working pressure.
- Valve rated pressure – 150 psi
- Body test pressure – 225 psi
Gate – MSS SP-81 requires the gate to be hydrostatically pressure tested to 1.1 times the rated working pressure.
- Valve rated pressure – 150 psi
- Gate test pressure – 165 psi
Seat – MSS SP-81 has an allowable leakage rate (for metal to metal seated valves) of 40 cc per inch of diameter, per minute at 40 psi pressure. On a 12″ valve this would be equal to 40 times 12, or 480 cc per minute at 40 psi.
- Maximum allowable leakage of 0.6 GPM when tested with water at 40 psi applied in the normal flow direction.
- No visible leakage when tested with water at 40 psi (for soft seated valves only).
Face to Face – MSS SP-81 has specified face-to-face dimensions and tolerances for each valve size to assure ease of installation for the consumer, regardless of the valve manufacturer.
